Chelsie loves New York Jets shoot. Makeup Artist Christina Cianciosi for A-List Artistry
Some new studio work for model Chelsie. She is a huge Jets fan and does commentating on games through her fan site, as well as other outlets.
Makeup artist for the session was Christina Cianciosi, the newest makeup artist on the A-List Artistry team. Obviously, Christina knows her way around a makeup kit. She even did some hair styling on this shoot.
Shoot was on location at Big Paw Photography in Syracuse, NY. Photographer: Kim Cook@ Big Paw Photo.graphy

Oswego Alumni Magazine shoot- makeup artist Holly Piselli for A-List Artistry
One of my favorite calls to get is for makeup artist for magazine work(usually the cover). I find the cover "model" is always someone with an interesting background and I enjoy hearing their story.
One of the coolest cover stories was scheduled on a dreary rainy day at SUNY Oswego .Who am I kidding it was pouring, high winds and it turned my umbrella inside out on the long walk across campus to the shoot location. I arrived drenched, shivering and excited beyond belief.
I was going to be the makeup artist/stylist for Joanna Shelmidine!

All dolled up and ready to kick some butt (not mine, thankfully | ) Joanna, left. Holly, right |
Name unfamiliar? I'll admit, I hadn't heard of her. But after a quick google search I realized I had seen a ton of her work! Turns out Joanna is an amazing stunt woman that has been seen on episodes of some of my favorite shows including The Sopranos, Ugly Betty, and Fear Factor, among countless other television and film jobs.
How cool!

Joanna is in incredible shape! |
We had such an amazing day on this shoot. Joanna was willing to do anything they threw at her and then some. All of that work certainly gets a stunt woman a little sweaty, but her makeup stayed just as strong as she was!
Here are a few shots photographer Robert Mascavage shared with me.

I made one of the shots! Not sure if it made the issue or not |
My favorite! |
Bob has an amazing eye for color and contrast. These shots are not retouched. They are straight out of the camera! To see more of Bob's work: www.mescavagephoto.com
If you have a minute, check out Joanna's stunt reel. Totally badass!

Makeup Artist for the Menorah House 100 year Anniversary Syracuse, NY
Commercial work can be such a great experience. You get to meet all different types of people. Both in the production team and with the clients.
While being on duty as the makeup artist for a bridal client I received an phone message and email asking for my availability the following Tuesday for a production shoot. Like I said, these can be great for networking and new experiences. Schenectady Media would be running the show that day.
So replied yes and packed my kit for a 10 hour day of shooting. I also contracted Christina to assist me for the day to show her the ropes of production makeup.
The client was the Menorah House of Central New York. A retirement community pretty close to where I live and a place I have driven by on many occasion, but never really gave much thought to.
When I arrived I quickly saw that this was an amazing place to live in the golden years!
I loved working with Jim at Schenectady Media, Kurt from Level 86, Jancy Ball, Scott from TV Crew NY, Matt at Event Tek, and Gen Andrews.

Makeup for modeling portfolio
I love doing all types of makeup. I love when a model or photographer contacts for me headshots or portfolio work. Especially up and coming models. They are so eager and it's fun to hear how excited they are.
Syracuse has it's fair share of beautiful people and I am thankful to team with such a great photographer like Kim Cook at Big Paw Photography. If you have read many of my posts, you'll see her name quite often. We love working together and respect each others talents and work ethic. We just..... click :)
Here's an example of one of our collaborations.
Mckenzie is a natural beauty that also looks great in front of the camera. Kim has a way of bringing out the best from behind the lens and making her clients feel comfortable in front of the camera. This shoot was to get Mckenzie on to an agency site with AMS Models and Talent.

Expect the unexpected-Makeup Artist turned model
When booked on a photoshoot,or for any job for that matter, flexibility is key. Expect the unexpected and go with the flow. So when Christina(our newest addition at A-List) and I arrived to begin makeup on a shoot and only the male model was there and 2 females were no shows... well, we just went with it. And Christina's modeling career was launched.
I was writing a piece for CNY Woman magazine on creating a perfect fall smokey eye. I needed an image to go with the piece, so this was a perfect time to execute the look. Kim Cook at Big Paw Photography is the magazine photographer and this shoot was her vision, so the timing was perfect.
Since Christina is a makeup artist with her kit on hand the whole shoot, she could make a few changes to her look along the way. She changed her neutral MAC Viva Glam 5 lipstick into a fiery red later in the shoot

Today's CNY Magazine- Makeup Artist for the Cover!!
http://www.joelylive.com/cnywoman/
Check out this video and see what I've been up to,
I've been lucky to work closely with Today's CNY Woman maganize. Meeting so many differnet types of women, all doing somethings inspiring. This issue may be my favorite! The model is 13 yr old Joely.
She does interviewing work with Sports Illustrated Kid. She's been in commercial and print that includes Martha Stewart, Target, and Vogue *swoon*
So you'd think she would be a spoiled girl with an attitude, but it couldn't be farther from the truth. Joely's parents arrived with her and her SUV full of clothes and props. You can see where Joely gets her polite manners and good nature.
Since she is a model, models never get asked their opinion on a shoot. So I decided, let's switch it up.Let her have a say in some of the makeup decisions. Two of my favorite things she had never experienced : Airbrush makeup and False eyelashes.WHAT?
So I used my new Stilazzi airbrush system with my favorite TEMPTU airbrush foundation. Studio shoots get hot and this makeup doens't budge.
Joely was in love with lashes the minute the first was glued on. Her mom was writing a makeup shopping list in between taking all of these shots.
Magazine photographer Kim Cook working her magic while Editor in Chief Cammi Clark looks on.
